Our Story
Candice and Victor founded NexTier Prep after reflecting on our own experiences navigating the highly competitive college admissions process. Having gone through it ourselves, we understand how overwhelming the journey can feel, and we wanted to create a mentorship experience that is both strategic and genuinely supportive.
At NexTier Prep, we provide personalized academic support and mentorship for students at every stage from elementary and middle school tutoring to high school academic coaching and college admissions guidance. We help students strengthen academic foundations, build confidence, and maximize their potential both inside and outside the classroom!

Victor Lin
Victor graduated with a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2022, specializing in computer systems and theory. Victor is also an avid classical pianist; he was one of eleven Chopin Foundation Scholarship recipients in 2015 and also won prizes at several large international competitions. He was admitted to The Juilliard School and New England Conservatory for piano performance, but ultimately decided to pursue his passion for computer science at Stanford.
Candice Wang
Candice graduated from Yale University with a degree in the History of Science and Medicine, and a focus on journalism, and then moved out to New York City to become a radio producer at New York Public Radio.
She loves all things writing, editing, and reading, and is dedicated to helping students break through their writing struggles and achieve their goals.
